Iota Cooking with Color Pocket Page Recipe Book, Why I love it: It's the cutest recipe book ever! It's really fun to use. I've never seen a recipe book that used index cards, and thought it was the most brilliant idea ever (and still do think that).

Why it only got 4 stars: I dislike the tab labels. Somehow I got two tabs for "Sauces and Dressings" and I definitely don't need two. Also, I think the tab labels could have been organized better.

There aren't sections for Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert, etc. It has things like: Sauces, desserts, poultry, breads....I don't know. I just have a hard to remembering where I put some things. (Did I put that general tso's recipe under Sauces or Poultry.....??? Gee I wish there was a "Main Courses" section) Maybe one day I'll feel motivated to cover the labels and make my own.

I read a review saying it was flimsy??? The binder is really solid, the metal rings are solid....yeah, the plastic insert holders and index cards are flimsy...what can you expect from paper and plastic?

Oh yeah, the tab pages are made out of paper and do not have any coating on them. If you get them wet or dirty, there really isn't any cleaning remedy. So that kinda stinks.


But really, I can't get past the index card system...it's really nifty and fun to use. Seriously, it's a cookbook, and a pretty darn good one at a fair price. Not much is ever perfect, so I definitely recommend this product.
